Seal Cleaning & Reconditioning
Seal cleaning and reconditioning keeps Jeep seals sealing: wash, prep, condition, then repeat across key seal zones every two months to reduce leak bypass and wind noise.
If seals are dirty or dried out, water can bypass contact surfaces. This routine applies to OEM seals and the added body-side seal included with Wrangler Weather Guard™.
Step 1 — Wash (Soap + Water) Remove dirt and grime first.
- Wash the seal surface with mild soap and water to remove grime.
- Wipe clean and rinse off soap.
- Dry fully with a clean towel before Step 2.
Step 2 — Prep (Provided “Cleaner”) Strip film and prep the contact surface.
- Apply a small amount of Cleaner to a towel (not directly into gaps).
- Wipe the seal thoroughly along the full contact surface.
- Let it air-dry until the seal feels dry to the touch.
Step 3 — Restore (Provided “Conditioner”) Recondition rubber for better sealing performance.
- Apply a small amount of Conditioner to a clean towel.
- Wipe a thin, even coat across seal contact surfaces.
- Let it absorb, then lightly buff off any excess residue.
Tip: Thin coats work best. Avoid leaving wet residue behind.
